Ampacet Corp. has acquired Australian masterbatch concentrate maker Allied Color & Additives Pty. Ltd. for an undisclosed price.
The deal between Tarrytown, N.Y.-based Ampacet and Allied of Mitcham, Australia, is scheduled to close in July. Allied employs 40 at plants in Australia and New Zealand, and specializes in color and functional additive masterbatches.
“Continued expansion in the Asia-Pacific region has long been part of our growth strategy,” Ampacet President and CEO Robert DeFalco said in a May 30 news release. In Asia, Ampacet has plants in Pune, India, and Shanghai.
Allied managing director Anthony Sewell added in the release that the acquisition “will serve to further strengthen the high level of products and services ACA customers have come to expect over the years.”
Ampacet employs 1,900 at 22 plants worldwide and ranks as one of the world’s largest makers of color and additive concentrates.
