MTI introduces new batch mixing technology

MTI Mischtechnik International GmbH of Detmold, Germany, introduced its new batch mixing technology at K 2016: MTI C tec PRO.

The fully automatic container mixing system separates the mixing vessel from the machine base by using a multi-axis Kuka robot — eliminating downtimes associated with cleaning conventional mixers when you make a recipe change.

To prepare the vessel, weighing takes place according to a given recipe. Then the container is placed in a central pickup station. From that point on, the MTI C tec PRO executes the specific mixing process fully automatically, ultimately returning the container to a delivery point.

Key to this setup is a new container lid that has an integrated mixer shaft that can accommodate a diverse range of mixing configurations.

The mixer can handle different sized containers, from 100 liters to 600 liters, so it can replace several conventional container mixers, and even different machine sizes.
