Polyethylene pipe extruder Advanced Drainage Systems Inc. today is announcing a plan to donate $100,000 to help build an athletic facility, called Miracle Field, for special needs children in southern New Jersey.
The Hilliard, Ohio-based firm, which just opened a $12 million plant near Bridgeport, N.J., is making the announcement in conjunction with a grade opening ceremony for the new plant. ADS is heading a public-private partnership aimed at creating a $600,000 athletic facility -- ADS is the lead contributor -- which will be open to Special Olympians from across the region, to autistic children, and to all children enrolled in Gloucester County, N.J., special education programs.
“We’re happy to help bring the “Miracle League” concept to South Jersey,” says ADS President Joseph Chlapaty. “Our company has been involved with the program in our home state of Ohio and we think it’s a truly wonderful concept.“This new facility will ultimately serve thousands of children…and not just those who are part of the Miracle League baseball program,” Chlapaty adds.
According to the news release, the Miracle League concept was created in 1998 and by April 2000, the first Miracle League Field opened with more than 100 registered players. Today, more than 150 Miracle League organizations exist across the country.
Congratulations to ADS for their role in this project.

Congratulations to ADS and Joe Chlapaty! This is the type of investment that should be the goal of every successful company.
