As managing editor of Someone asked me yesterday, "What's the biggest story from the K show this year?" Unfortunately, I had to say: "You'll find out tomorrow."
The story, uncovered by Bill Bregar, our senior reporter who covers machinery, is the sale of Battenfeld Gloucester Engineering Co., which now is changing its name to Gloucester Engineering Co. Inc.
Bill was excited about this story -- he's visited the company's Gloucester, Mass, plant, so he has a good feel for how the local community will react to the news.
There's plenty of good technology and expansion news at K 2007, but I think this sale is the biggest news story so far.
