As managing editor of Plastics News, I scan scores of Web sites, emails and news releases daily, and stay in constant touch with our network of global staff reporters and correspondents -- the largest reporting team in the plastics industry. I distill the more interesting items into commentary for this blog. Plastics News, part of Crain Communications Inc., began publishing weekly news in 1989, and launched a bilingual China site in mid-2005. In 2007, Crain acquired the two leading English-language plastics publications in Europe - Plastics & Rubber Weekly and the monthly European Plastics News.
Here's a cool looking new product, although I don't expect it to be a huge seller: a combination vinyl CD. It's a standard CD on one side, and a vinyl record on the flip side capable of holding up to 3.5 minutes of music.
The product is from Optimal Media Productions. It looks neat, but if I had one I'm afraid I couldn't do anything with the vinyl side. I threw out my turntable a few years ago. (Those old LPs are still hiding in the basement, though).

How about a head's up if you plan on auctioning off your LPs on eBay? I'd be particularly interested in any notable jazz or blues disks....there might be other takers out here, too.
