Chinese PP recycler filing IPO in Australia
QUANZHOU, CHINA (February 28, 2010) -- One of China’s largest makers of polypropylene filament yarns wants to use a stock offering in Australia to expand its business using recycled PP feedstock, believing a focus on green materials gives a cost advantage and better meets rising demand for eco-products.

Lifetime files infringement suits in Chinese court

LONDON (November 23, 2009) -- Using the inspiration of the playful forming of origami and Lego, a German design student has created a plastic lamp which can be adapted into different sculptural shapes. The design will be on display at the EuroMold exhibition in Frankfurt in December.

Schulman planning new masterbatch plant in India
FAIRLAWN, OHIO (October, 2007) -- A. Schulman, Inc. plans to establish a masterbatch facility in western India, an area that the company considers a “key geographic growth market.” The firm said the facility will start with one line that will manufacture the company’s masterbatch products for the packaging, appliance and consumer products markets.

Hong Kong plastics firms report mixed results
Hong Kong (October 27, 2009) -- Hong Kong-based compounder Ngai Hing Hong Co. Ltd. said it is seeing signs of recovery in its Chinese factories, while other plastics firms reporting financial results recently at the Hong Kong stock market were more cautious.

Two Indian housewares firms continue expansion
GUANGZHOU, CHINA (October 19, 2009) -- Plastic packaging extruder Specialty Polyfilms India Pvt. Ltd. invested in a significant capacity expansion in August, as the company sees growth for its plastic food wrap. Meantime, household goods injection molder Princeware International Pvt. Ltd. is planning to add 15 injection molding machines at its Mumbai headquarters factory.

Molder takes production from China to U.S.
GREENVILLE, MICH. (October 14, 2009) -- Two injection molders plan to add more than 100 jobs in Greenville, including a company bringing business to the United States from China. Zero1 LLC of Ada, Mich., has been involved with designing and backing office chairs made in China, but now plans to launch production in Greenville.
