German machinery exec doesn't expect sharp upswing

CHICAGO (August 11, 2009) -- German-made plastics machinery was booming in 2007 and stayed strong up until the fourth quarter of 2008. But German engineering federation VDMA expects German plastics
machinery to drop about 40 percent for all of 2009, from 2008 levels, measured in euro value.
Ashley's new factory to use Chinese-made machines TIANJIN (August 11, 2009) -- Indiana-based Ashley Industrial Molding Inc. is investing about $15 million to open its second plant, a factory in Iowa that will run three mammoth 4,000-ton machines to

Patel wants to buy Milacron's India JV

AHMEDABAD, INDIA (July 28, 2009) -- Mahendra N. Patel, who partnered with Milacron Inc. in 1995 to create a plastics machinery joint venture in India, now wants to buy the operation. Patel said he
held a meeting with officials from Avenue Capital Group, one of the investment firms that is buying Milacron out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Sipa to launch its first integrated bottling line VITTORIO VENETO, ITALY (July 28, 2009) -- Sipa will launch the Sincro Triblco bottler, which integrates bottle production, labelling, filling and sealing, at the Drinktec trade show later this year in
Germany. Sipa claims that the new bottler offers advantages over other machines on the market, as it can be set to handle different bottle sizes without the need to change any mechanical element.

Hayco places 14-machine order with Ferromatik HONG KONG (July 14, 2009) -- German injection machinery maker Ferromatik Milacron announced this week it has received an order for 14 machines ranging up to 650 metric tons from Hayco Manufacturing
Ltd. of Hong Kong. The first seven machines will be delivered to Hayco’s manufacturing plant in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, before the end of the year.

Bankruptcy court approves sale of Milacron

CINCINNATI (July 7, 2009) -- Bankruptcy Judge J. Vincent Aug Jr. has approved Milacron Inc’s sale to two investor groups that bought the debt of the maker of plastics machinery and industrial fluids
— despite opposition from unsecured creditors and the company’s joint venture partner in India.
