MPC named 2004 PN award winner

At its recent Executive Forum in Phoenix, which drew a record 200-plus participants, Plastics News crowned Miniature Precision Components Inc., of Walworth, Wis., as winner of its prestigious Processor of the Year Award, recognizing it for overall excellence among North American plastics processors. MPC is a repeat finalist in the contest's nine-year history, having also earned that status in 2002.

The March 1 evening ceremony honored all 2004 award finalists for their achievements, including pipe extruder Hancor Inc. of Findlay, Ohio; rotomolder Rotonics Manufacturing Inc. of Gardena, Calif.; and automotive molder U.S. Farathane Corp. of Sterling Heights, Mich. A Dec. 6 Plastics News story described the merits of all four firms.

For the third consecutive year, Ernst & Young Corporate Finance (Canada) Inc. served as exclusive co-sponsor, along with Plastics News, of both the award and the reception.
