Mack Molding is PN's Processor of the Year

SAN DIEGO (Feb. 28, 9:30 a.m. EST) — Mack Molding Co. of Arlington, Vt., is Plastics News’ Processor of the Year, the newspaper announced Feb. 27 during its annual Executive Forum in San Diego. Read our March 12 Mack profile..

An earlier feature story profiled all three finalists, including Berry Plastics Corp. of Evansville, Ind., and Innovative Injection Technologies Inc., known as i2Tech, of West Des Moines, Iowa.

Executives from each finalist company participated in a best-practices panel on the final day of the Forum. Berry’s Ira Boots, i2Tech’s Bob Janeczko and Mack’s Jeff Somple and Ray Burns shared management tips and market insights

For the fifth consecutive year, Montreal-based Ernst & Young Corporate Finance (Canada) Inc. co-sponsored the award and related reception. Ernst & Young also helped judges analyze the financial performance of the companies. The judges are members of the paper’s editorial staff. Senior reporter Bill Bregar, who coordinates the annual Processor of the Year Award, visited all three finalists in January.
