Dr. Robin Kent, founder and managing director of U.K.-based consulting engineers Tangram Technology Ltd., is a specialist in this field. In this workshop, he will draw on 36 years of plastics processing experience to help unravel some of the mysteries of good energy-management practices for processors of all types.
Kent has helped countless plastics companies to better understand the energy usage in their production plants, starting with where, when, why and how energy is being consumed. He helps managers establish practical measures in the areas of motivation and training, basic machine usage and setting, and performance recording. He offers tips for reducing energy use in utilities such as water, compressed air and general building services, and for purchasing energy most effectively.
As an added feature of Plastics News' Executive Forum 2009, Dr. Kent on Sunday afternoon, March 1, will repeat the four-hour seminar he presented to rave reviews at the recent Sustain '08 conference in Chicago. At no extra charge, registered Forum participants can join this discussion just prior to the conference's welcome reception. Save on your airfare by coming in Saturday night, and more than pay for your investment in the Forum by taking away practical, money-saving tips from this session.
To see Robin Kent in action, view this brief video clip from his Sustain presentation. Please be sure to indicate whether you wish to attend this workshop when you complete your Forum registration form.
Kent also is presenting a continuing education course at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee from May 11-13. It is called "Reducing Energy Use in Plastics Processing" and you can download a PDF brochure about the course here or go to http://sce-eng.uwm.edu for details.
