LEHIGH VALLEY, PA. (Nov. 3, 1 p.m. ET) -- Air Products Chemicals Inc. has opened a new speciality amines plant in Nanjing, China, to support local customers in the polyurethane additives and epoxy markets, according to a Nov. 3 news release.
The multi-reactor facility, located in the Nanjing Chemical Industry Park, will allow the Lehigh Valley-based company to supply differentiated products that can be formulated locally to meet local needs, the company said, explaining that initially it will focus on polyurethane additive lines such as its Polycat and Dabco series of amine catalysts as well as other epoxy curing agents.
The company said the new plant has “significantly strengthened the supply chain capabilities” of Air Products' Performance Materials business in China and throughout Asia.
“China's growth and domestic development in key markets and industries, such as construction, coatings, and automobile production, make this an important place for us to be focused on for growth and new business,” said CEO John McGlade.
