SHERIDAN, MICH. (Nov. 5, 4:10 p.m. ET) -- Injection molder Wright Plastic Products LLC is taking on new work and making plans to add new equipment and jobs.
Wright will invest $275,000 in new machinery and equipment and will add 11 jobs to the 29 employees now at its Sheridan, Mich., plant during the next two years, said President Bob Luce in a Nov. 5 telephone interview.
At the same time, the state of Michigan has approved a $108,000 grant which will be added to another $14,100 investment from the village of Sheridan to extend updated sewer lines to Wright, which is needed to update the facility’s infrastructure as it grows and replace an aging sewer system, Luce said. The new lines will also help the village attract additional manufacturers.
Wright has started winning additional work, including taking over production originally sourced to other molders, he said. About 80 percent of the company’s sales are to the auto industry.
Wright has developed a specialty not only in molding, but in trouble shooting problems for its customers, Luce said. It has capabilities in insert molding, overmolding, in-mold decorating and post-mold decorating as well as welding.
