These video features offer a glimpse into the production facilities and the business philosophies of the four 2009 finalist companies: GW Plastics Inc. of Bethel, Vt.; Montrose Molders Corp. of South Plainfield, N.J.; Plastikos Inc. of Erie, Pa.; and repeat finalist PolyPipe Inc. of Gainesville, Texas. Top executives from all four firms share their recession-fighting techniques in interviews with Plastics News.
Plastics News' weekly series is about anything related to North American materials: supply, demand, pricing, mergers and acquisitions, novel applications, new resins, compounding or distribution news or trends, etc. Senior reporter Frank Esposito, who covers those North American plastics topics, is the program's primary host.
Plastics News Global Group posted 17 news and feature videos from the show floor during the June 22-26 NPE2009 exhibition in Chicago. PN's team of reporters worked with videographer Steve Raddock to help tell the story from McCormick Place.
These features offer a glimpse inside the plants and into the managerial approaches of the top executives from the three 2008 finalist companies -- Sherl Hill of Freelin-Wade Co., Jim Moore of Polypipe Inc., and Tom Duffey, of POY award winner Plastic Components Inc.
This series, shot at PN's 2009 Executive Forum, offers insights from industry executives, consultants, analysts and attorneys on everything from coping with bankruptcy pressures and supply-chain disruptions to entering new markets.
