U.S. Farathane wins Processor of the Year
PLASTICS NEWS REPORT

TAMPA, FLA. (March 8, 10:30 a.m. EST) -- U.S. Farathane Corp. of Sterling Heights, Mich., is Plastics News’ 2005 Processor of the Year, the newspaper announced March 7 during its Executive Forum held March 5-8 in Tampa.

U.S. Farathane, an injection molder and extruder of automotive parts, is one of the largest U.S. companies to do two-shot molding. Parts made by USF include side seat panels, cowl panels, headrest guides and head- and taillight housings.

Executives from each finalist company also participated in a best-practices panel discussion on the final day of the forum.

Plastics News will run a profile of U.S. Farathane in its March 13 issue.

Officials from USF and the other two finalist companies attended the event. The other finalists were: Fibergrate Composite Structures Inc. of Dallas and Innovative Injection Technologies Inc., known as i2Tech, of West Des Moines, Iowa.

Ernst & Young Corporate Finance (Canada) Inc. co-sponsored the award, and helped the judges analyze the financial performance of the companies.

Senior reporter Bill Bregar, who coordinates the Processor of the Year Award, visited all three finalists earlier this year. The judges are members of the paper’s editorial staff.
