a) Pelican Products Inc. of Torrance, Calif., bought Hardigg Industries Inc. for about $200 million in late 2008.
b) Private equity firm Olympus Partners of Stamford, Conn., bought Norwesco Inc. in 2008. Norwesco managers retained a minority stake. Olympus also owns rotomolder Snyder Industries Inc.
c) MGA Entertainment Inc., parent to Hudson, Ohio-based Little Tikes Co., said it will consider a $4.3 million financial incentive package from state and local officials to keep toy maker Little Tikes in Hudson. The package includes a $3.2 million, five-year low-interest loan. MGA will make a decision after a state board approves the release of funds in mid-September.
d) Myers Industries Inc. is looking to sell Bristol, Ind.-based Ameri-Kart Corp. Earlier this year, Ameri-Kart closed its rotomolding plant in Fostoria, Ohio.
e) Kayak and canoe maker Johnson Outdoors Inc., which is publicly traded on Nasdaq, announced June 30 that it will close its Ferndale, Wash., factory and consolidate paddle sports operations at a plant in Old Town, Maine, by Sept. 30, 2009. Officials said the move is being made to improve profitability of its watercraft business.
f) Playground equipment maker PlayPower Inc. has closed its rotomolding plant in Farmington, Mo., and consolidated production into a factory in Monett, Mo.
g) Genmar Holdings Inc., which owns Triumph Boats Inc., filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization June 1.
h) Channell Commercial Corp. stock was delisted from Nasdaq and trades on the electronic pink sheets market.
i) Franklin Fueling Systems Inc.’s rotomolding operations previously were listed under its Advanced Polymer Technology Inc. subsidiary.
j) Gator Cases Inc. XL Division is previously listed XL Specialty Percussion Inc., which Gator acquired in January 2009.
