Search tips
Site Search
The Site Search feature finds matches of your keyword search in the following sections of PlasticsNews.com: Breaking news, More news, Story archives, Links directory, Opinion, Classifieds and FYI charts.

Case sensitivity
Site searches are not case-sensitive, but they do look for exact text matches as entered in the search box.

Single vs. plural
Please note that searching for "plastic" will not yield returns for "plastics," and vice versa.

Phrase search
You can search for a specific phrase by enclosing it in quotation marks. For example, "Society of the Plastics Industry" will return all results where that exact phrase appears.

Boolean search
You can use the Boolean operators and, or and not in your search term (these are also NOT case-sensitive). Without these operators, the Site Search feature will assume that you are using and between your terms. For example, plastics manufacturer and plastics and manufacturer are the same search.

* And: Entering the and operator between the elements of your search term requires that all specified elements must be present in the pages returned as results. Example: plastics and manufacturer will return results where both terms are present.

* Or: Entering the or operator between the elements of your search term requires that any of your specified elements be present in the pages returned as results. Example: plastics or manufacturer will return results where either plastics or manufacturer are present.

* Not: Entering the not operator between the elements of your search term requires that a specified search term not be present in the pages returned as results. Example: plastics not manufacturer will return results where the term plastics is present but manufacturer isn't.

Advanced search options
The advanced search options section on the bottom of your results page offers several ways to limit your search to specific issues of the publication. Your options include:

* Recent issues
* You can select how many weeks to go back to search through issues, up to eight weeks.

* Particular issues
* You can select to search through a particular issue, by month, day and year.

* Range of issues
* You can select to search through issues in a specified time range, by month and year.

* Maximum stories to return
* You can select the maximum number of stories that you want displayed in your results.

Search tips
If your search is not generating the results you had hoped for, you can try the following:

 * Check the spelling for the keyword(s) being searched.
 * Shorten your keyword search phrase or use the "phrase search" method.
 * Use the "advanced search options" to refine your search.
