South Carolina, investing $5.5 million to add a new production line to its
Beech Island thermoforming facility. The expansion is slated to begin in February, and also includes plans to expand the facility’s warehouse to consolidate Pactiv’s regional operations.

WADSWORTH, OHIO (Jan. 5, 2:55 p.m. ET) -- In a deal between two thermoforming firms, Rohrer Corp. has purchased Buckell Plastic Co. Inc. for an undisclosed price. Acquiring Lewistown, Pa.-based Buckell will allow Rohrer to strengthen its position in the visual packaging market, officials said in a Jan. 4 news release.

EXETER, CALIF. (Dec. 30, 2:30 p.m. ET) -- Peninsula Packaging Co. LLC has expanded its agricultural thermoforming business by acquiring two facilities from Berkley Operations LLC doing business as Packaging Plus LLC. Peninsula gets thermoforming plants in Yakima, Wash., and Hollister, Calif.
