ORLANDO, FLA – For years, the makers of all-electric injection molding presses have told molders that they are more efficient. Solarsoft Business Systems now has a monitoring system in place that can not only track the energy use on new presses but the entire press fleet and let molders know for certain where their energy dollars are going.
“We want to help manufacturers improve efficiency,” said Andy Amalfitano general manager of Toronto-based Solarsoft's manufacturing execution and intelligence division, in an interview at NPE2012 in Orlando. “You need to know what your real energy use is to control it. Without that data, you're just running blind.”
