Silmar Resins, a Fort Wright, Ky.-based unit of the Commercial Resins Division of Interplastic Corp. of Vadnais Heights, Minn., announced it will increase its prices 3-51/2 cents per pound, effective Jan. 15.
The wide range of increases is dependent on the chemistry of specific resins.
Executives of the companies cited their increased costs for raw materials, especially ethylene monomer and glycols, as reasons for the price increases.
