NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA. - Arco Chemical Co. will buy and market toluene diisocyanate from Rhone-Poulenc SA, under a pending agreement with the French chemical maker. The agreement would allow Arco Chemical access to European markets for its polyol products, and ensure its supply of TDI, a chemical frequently used in combination with polyols in polyurethane foam for bedding, furniture and automotive seating applications.
Rhone-Poulenc of Courbevoie, France, makes specialty and agricultural chemicals and pharmaceuticals.
Arco Chemical, headquartered in Newtown Square, manufactures polyols.
