DEADLINE: Feb. 24! Plastics News is preparing its fifth-annual ranking of North American injection molders. Companies will be ranked by their injection molding-related dollar sales for their operations in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
The data we collect will be used to rank companies in Plastics News' April 17 special report on injection molding. The information will be reprinted in our annual Market Data Book, to be published Dec. 25.
Though we will continue to seek data on the same types of firms, we are dropping the word ``custom'' from the survey's name to reflect more accurately the operations of the companies included. We will include sales of custom products as well as stock products - i.e. generic caps and closures, videocassette cases, promotional cups and packaging - that are molded for outside customers.
We will continue to exclude from the ranking those companies or sales derived from products marketed under a proprietary trade name to the general consuming public or distributors to that public (e.g. Rubbermaid Inc.). Additionally, the ranking does not include captive molders, which we define as those that mold solely for their internal consumption components for other products they make (e.g. GE Appliances).
In addition to the survey form in this week's issue, we have mailed 1,500 identical questionnaires to key personnel at North American injection molders. Look for it in your ``in'' box!
To make sure your company is included and ranked accurately, complete and return the mailed survey, or either fax or mail the form in this issue.
We need all surveys returned by Feb. 24
We will include in our published listing any relevant injection molder - regardless of size - who fully completes the survey and returns it to us before the deadline.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to stand up and be counted among North America's top injection molders!
