THOMAS URGES MEMBERSHIP IN ALLIANCE

PHOENIX - The Society of the Plastics Industry Inc.'s president, Larry Thomas, called for member companies to join the Alliance for Reasonable Regulation, a group that supports applying risk assessment criteria to government regulations. In a Feb. 23 speech at the joint meeting of the SPI Molders and Moldmakers divisions, Thomas said the new group supports a common sense approach to the regulatory process. Thomas also asked members for examples of how regulations, when not based upon sound science, have been inappropriately applied to their firms and have created a negative economic impact.
