GLENS FALLS, N.Y. - Astro Valcour Inc., a Glens Falls plastics manufacturer, has agreed to buy the Microfoam division of Ametek Inc. The deal was reported March 28 in the Albany, N.Y., Times Union. Terms were not disclosed.
Microfoam makes low density plastic foam sheeting for packaging and other uses at its plant in Wurtland, Ky.
Astro Valcour makes protective packaging including polyethylene and polystyrene foam sheets and bubble cushions. The company employs 751 in North America and reported 1994 sales of more than $20 million.
Astro Valcour is a subsidiary of NV Koninkligke NKP BT, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Ametek is based in Paoli, Pa.
