KOHALA COAST, HAWAII - Kohala Coast will be the site for this year's annual conference of the Western Section of the Society of the Plastics Industry Inc., scheduled for May 10-13 at the Ritz-Carlton Mauna Lani. The Long Beach, Calif.-based section covers 14 western states, including Alaska and Hawaii.
Sessions include ``Doing Business on the Information High-way,'' by William J. Murphy of Hewlett-Packard Co., and ``Auto-mation and Productivity in the Plastics Processing Environment,'' by Michael Urquhart of Husky Injection Molding Systems Inc. SPI also plans a program on composites' role in Hawaii's $90 million ocean thermal-energy conversion industry.
