Eastman Chemical Co. of Kingsport, Tenn., is providing a new, high-molecular-weight polyester resin to Cadbury Schweppes of Birmingham, England, for new Rose-brand chocolates containers. The resin is produced by a continuous-melt-phase polymerization process followed by solid-state polymerization. The wide-mouth jars, injection stretch blow molded by Able Industries Ltd. of Worcestershire, England, have been available in the United Kingdom since the first of the year. No date has been set for a U.S. introduction.
