BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. - Custom molder Courtesy Corp. ordered 11 new Krauss-Maffei injection presses as part of a $23 million expansion now under way. The presses, with clamping forces of 50-550 tons, will boost Courtesy's total to more than 100, President Walter Kreiseder said.
Courtesy, based in Buffalo Grove, is constructing a 350,000-square-foot building next to its existing 265,000-square-foot plant.
It also operates a third plant under its Courtesy Med/Tek Division in Wheeling, Ill.
Kreiseder said Courtesy, with customers in the medical, packaging and electrical/electronic markets, is moving toward an all-Krauss-Maffei shop.
He said it will continue to retire older presses and buy machines with the latest computer controls.
Courtesy has injection molding sales of $51 million and total sales of $66 million, according to Plastics News' 1995 North American injection molders survey.
