WOODSTOCK, ILL. - Matrix IV Inc. is upgrading its custom injection molding plant in Woodstock with two new presses from Van Dorn Demag. The company recently installed one 230 HT and one 170 HT press to handle production of small molded parts, according to Ray Wenk Jr., plant manager for the company.
Matrix IV now has 32 machines with clamping forces of 30-1,000 tons.
The company may add space to the plant later this year, Wenk said.
Matrix IV, which has 135 employees, makes parts for the appliance, automotive and housewares industries. The company also makes proprietary hose clips.
``The market has been strong for the past 11/2-2 years for us,'' Wenk said.
