COLUMBUS, OHIO - Plastic Suppliers Inc., a privately held film manufacturer, converter and distributor based in Columbus, has installed a new film and sheet extrusion line that doubles its capacity. The customized, 25 million-pound-per-year line is the company's fourth extrusion line at the 120,000-square-foot facility, which has capacity for about 50 million pounds per year.
The company manufactures Polyflex-brand biaxially oriented polystyrene film and sheet for thermoforming and printing.
``We will be adding about 60,000 more square feet within a year at Columbus,'' said Phil Ludwig, sales manager.
``The new space will be primarily warehouse space, but there may be some additional manufacturing space as well,'' he said.
Plastic Suppliers also is a distributor of ICI Melinex polyesters, Dow window films, Bayer polycarbonates, polypropylene, graphic arts films, and heat-sealable packaging films.
The company operates converting, slitting and cutting plants in Atlanta; Blackwood, N.J.; Chicago; Dallas; Los Angeles; Toronto; and Northampton, England.
Another BOPS extrusion and converting operation is in Ghent, Belgium.
