CALGARY, ALBERTA - Shell Canada Ltd. of Calgary plans to spend about C$25 million (US$18.4 million) at its styrene monomer production facility near Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The investment is intended to improve the efficiency of the plant and its long-term global competitiveness, the company said. Shell Canada Chemicals - a division of Shell Canada - serves styrene customers in Canada, the United States and Asia.
Work is expected to be completed by April 1996, said spokeswoman Jan Rowley.
The project will increase styrene production capacity by 110.2 million pounds. Current production is 881.6 million pounds.
