On behalf of the Society of Plastics Engineers (and specifically in my role as chair of the Marketing and Management Division), our thanks to Bill Bregar for his kind words about ANTEC [Viewpoint, Page 12, May 29]. Is ANTEC fun? Although we never thought of it in precisely that light, of course it can be. What with greater attendance, exhibits and a larger variety of subject and program choices than ever before, those of us in volunteer roles view it as enlightening, good for networking, a way to absorb more knowledge and get a handle on what's truly happening.
As for the M&M Division, we feel we are making headway in helping SPE offer more business and career-related sessions. Do you know that it only takes an additional $4 for SPE members to take in the wealth of information our division provides through newsletters, regional technical conferences and resources through our many members and volunteers?
SPE-and ANTEC-is changing. Needs are changing because our industry is in turmoil and is constantly challenged to find newer and better ways to reach goals.
Bill is absolutely right, though-with all of the change, we shouldn't forget to ``sell,'' and we hope we never forget how to have fun, too.
