WASHINGTON - G. Watts Humphrey, chairman and chief executive of Pittsburgh-based Conair Group, has been re-elected to a second one-year term as board chairman of the Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. Other board officers re-elected to one-year terms were Vice Chairman H. Patrick Jack, vice president, chemicals at Fina Oil and Chemical Co. in Dallas; and Secretary David G. Birney, president of Solvay Polymers in Houston.
Harry B. Ussery, president of Beacon Plastics Inc. in Greenville, S.C., was elected board treasurer, succeeding R. Bruce Ray, president of Ray Products Co. Inc. of El Monte, Calif. He had been treasurer since 1991.
Eight new members joined the SPI board June 1. They are: Bart J. Alcamo, vice president of RBK Tool & Die Inc. in Modesto, Calif.; Charles W. Bentley, president of Colt's Plastics Co. Inc. in Dayville, Conn.; Donald H. Dew Jr., president and chief executive officer of Diemolding Corp. in Canastota, N.Y.; Fred E. Heine, vice president of Acromark Industries Inc. in Berkeley Heights, N.J.; Roger N. Lewis, vice president of research at the Argus Division of Witco Corp. in Marshall, Texas; Paul Mitchell, president and chief executive officer of Tetra Plastics Inc. in Earth City, Mo.; Carole Monheim, regional sales manager for Vetrotex CertainTeed Corp. in Santa Ana, Calif.; and P. Paul Petro, president of the Plexco Performance Pipe Division of Chevron Corp. in Bensenville, Ill.
