CLEVELAND-Classic Plastic Machinery Co., which specializes in remanufacturing used Van Dorn injection molding presses, has started a sister company to sell fourlines of new equipment in four states. The new firm, Classic Plastic Sales Co., covers most of Ohio and Indiana, and all of Kentucky and West Virginia, said President Jim Martin.
Classic Plastic Sales and Classic Plastic Machinery are based in the same facility in Brunswick, Ohio.
The sales arm will enable the company to offer a new system, with one line of new injection presses, a line of auxiliary equipment, robots and chillers, Martin said.
Three of four Classic Plastic Sales' client firms exhibited at Plastics Fair Cleveland: press maker Van Dorn De-mag Corp. of Strongsville, Ohio; auxiliary supplier Universal Dynamics Corp. of Woodbridge, Va.; and Budzar Industries Inc., a chiller maker in Euclid, Ohio. Wittman Robot & Automation Systems Inc. is based in Torrington, Conn.
Martin said the arrangement will give molders a way to buy new equipment and get rid of the old.
``Our approach is, we can sell the system and make your own machines disappear through our sister company,'' he said.
