Recycled plastic lumber was selected over wood for construction of the recently completed Tiffany Street Pier (above) in New York. The Bronx pier is 480 feet long and 50 feet wide. The recycled lumber was supplied by Trimax Plastic Lumber of Ronkonkoma, N.Y., and Seaward International of Clearbrook, Va. Trimax produced pilings, caps and rangers for the pier frame, and all the decking, railings and the gazebo roofing structure. The seawall at right also was made of Trimax lumber.
