MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO-The Society of the Plastics Industry of Canada has appointed Pierre Dubois its new president, effective July 1. Dubois replaces E. Ron Evason, who retired earlier this year from the position he had held for 20 years.
Dubois began his plastics career in 1961 with DuPont Canada Inc. He was vice president of packaging maker Twinpak Inc.of Montreal until 1993, when he left to form his own consulting firm. While at Twinpak Dubois promoted the use of PET bottles in Canada and a recycling system that helped convince Canadian governments to approve the bottles.
