Custom Resins Inc., based in Henderson, Ky., is offering a new line of nylon 6 resins for injection molders. Nylene resin grades are available for high- and low-temperature applications and with a range of toughness, stiffness and flexibility properties.
The firm formerly was a captive producer of film-grade nylon for Bemis Co. Inc., but now is an independent subsidiary of Polymeric Resources Corp. of Wayne, N.J.

Intercide avaible in plasticizer carrier
Akcros Chemicals America's Intercide biocide is available in a new plasticizer carrier for uses such as pool and pond liners.
Intercide ABF-2 711 is a 2 percent solution of biocide in di-(heptyl, nonyl, undecyl) phthalate plasticizer and is registered with the Environmental Protection Agency. Akcros, based in New Brunswick, N.J., is a joint venture between Akzo Nobel and Harcros Chemical Group.

New AtoHaas acrylic aimed at PC uses
A tougher, gamma-resistant acrylic from AtoHaas North America Inc. is touted as a cost-effective alternative to polycarbonate in medical devices.
Atohaas of Philadelphia said Plexiglas SG-10 resists discoloration from irradiation and has better chemical resistance than its SG-7 grade.
