HOUSTON - A July 7 fire in one of 12 ethylene steam cracking furnaces at Exxon Chemical Corp.'s Baytown, Texas, polyolefins plant was brought under control quickly and did not cause extensive damage. The Houston firm said production resumed late July 9.
