VALLEY FORGE, PA. - Vetrotex CertainTeed recently began a multimillion-dollar expansion project at its Wichita Falls, Texas, fiberglass reinforcements manufacturing facility. The expansion will increase the company's annual production by about 20 percent. The project involves capacity additions and productivity improvements for two of the company's furnaces. One is to be finished this fall, the other in spring 1996.
In April 1993, construction of Tank V, a technologically advanced manufacturing facility in Wichita Falls, was finished, according to the company.
Vetrotex CertainTeed is a producer of fiberglass reinforcement marketed to the composites industry and used in automotive, appliance and business equipment, marine, aerospace, transportation, construction and corrosion-resistant applications.
The company is a subsidiary of Valley Forge-based CertainTeed Corp., a U.S. division of Vetrotex International of Chambery, France.
