SAN ANTONIO - Precision Mold & Tool Inc. of San Antonio opened its third location on May 10, a 5,000-square-foot mold maintenance and repair facility in Reynosa, Mexico, to serve the maquiladora market. The firm also completed 5,000-square-foot additions to both its San Antonio and La Feria, Texas, plants, doubling the size of those buildings. It recently installed a new Charmilles computer numerically controlled electric discharge machine in San Antonio.
Precision just hired its first full-time sales and marketing person, Domingo Auces.
This month, Precision celebrates its 10th anniversary. Owners Naum and Maya Royberg plan to hold a companywide, weekend celebration to include all 40 employees and their families from the three plants, at South Padre Island in Texas.
The Roybergs came to Texas from Kiev in the former Soviet Union, where Naum worked as a mold maker. After working for another shop in Texas for several years, Naum and Maya decided to open their own shop.
``We appreciate this country so much,'' said Maya. ``We're holding this celebration to thank all the people who helped get us where we are.''
The Roybergs look forward to future expansion in Mexico with possibly another facility in Monterrey to support increasing maquiladora work.
``Our future plans also call for establishing good relations with Mexican companies in the Mexican market,'' said Maya Royberg.
