ATLANTA - Amoco Foam Products Co. has introduced a new foam insulation board designed for residential construction made with a minimum of 50 percent recycled polystyrene. Amofoam-RCX extends the company's line of recycled-content PS insulation. Atlanta-based Amoco Foam three years ago introduced Amofoam-RCY, also with a minimum 50 percent recycled content, for the commercial construction market.
Both products contain a minimum of 25 percent post-consumer PS.
``Amofoam-RCX has perform-ance characteristics similar to the original Amofoam product, and it meets the thermal and fire tests of the model building codes,'' said Jack Lubker, product manager for Amoco Foam.
In addition to the recycled content, Amofoam-RCX features a protective, nonreflective plastic film laminate on both sides to increase board strength and minimize the potential for construction-site damage.
