MELVILLE, N.Y. - Melville-based hot stamping equipment supplier Foilmark Inc. will acquire a pad printing equipment maker, Imtran Industries Inc. of Newburyport, Mass. Terms are for an undisclosed combination of cash and Foilmark stock. Imtran owners, Kenneth Harris and Steven Meredith, will remain as vice president and a consultant to the company, respectively, for at least three years, Foilmark said.
The acquisition means Foilmark can offer a complete package of machines for packaging decoration, said Joe Olsen, president and chief executive officer of Foilmark.
Imtran reported sales of about $4.2 million for the fiscal year that ended March 31.
Foilmark manufactures hot stamping equipment, foil and dies. Foilmark also makes machines to apply holograms to credit and debit cards, along with holographic foil for several industries.
Harbour Grup unit purchases speeflo
ST. LOUIS - Harbour Group Ltd., the St. Louis holding company that burst into the plastics auxiliary equipment scene by purchasing AEC Inc. and Sterling Inc. earlier this year, announced July 6 it bought a leading maker of spray painting systems, Spee-flo Manufacturing Corp. of Houston.
Harbour's subsidiary, Titan Tool Inc., purchased Speeflo for undisclosed terms.
Titan, based in Oakland, N.J., makes low- to medium-capacity compact airless paint spraying systems, guns and tips. A vertically integrated company, Titan does its own extrusion and injection molding of plastics, and machines castings and bar stock.
Speeflo makes high-capacity, heavy-duty spray painting systems.
Sales grow spurs Gammaflux expansion
STERLING, VA. - To accommodate a sharp increase in sales during the first half of 1995, Gammaflux LP is expanding its Sterling headquarters and its technical development center in Rockford, Ill.
The company makes temperature controllers for hot-runner systems.
Manufacturing facilities in Sterling will be expanded nearly 50 percent. A sales and marketing center will be added in Rockford. The company has hired more employees.
Aoki Technical opens subsidiary in Europe
DUSSELDORF, GERMANY - Aoki Technical Laboratory Inc., a maker of injection stretch blow molding machines in Nagano, Japan, has opened a subsidiary in Dusseldorf.
Aoki Technical Laboratory Europe GmbH opened June 1. Teruo Sakai, director of sales at Aoki, was named president of Aoki Europe. The vice president is Junichiro Abe.
DT Industries shows profit for fiscal year
LEBANON, MO. - DT Industries Inc. of Lebanon, the parent company of Sencorp Systems Inc., a maker of thermoforming and blister packaging machinery, reported sales of $147.4 million in its first full fiscal year as a public firm, ended June 25.
DT Industries does not break out sales for Sencorp, of Hyannis, Mass., which is grouped in DT's Special Machines Group. But DT said sales for that group increased $5.7 million, or 24.3 percent, in the fourth quarter and $1.5 million, or 2 percent, for the full year, said Stephen Gore, president and chief executive .
DT Industries, based in Lebanon, went public in April 1994.
For the full year, the company reported $8.45 million in profit.
