David Hoover was named executive vice president and chief financial officer. Duane Emerson was named senior vice president and chief administrative officer. JOHNSON CONTROLS INC. - James Pell was named vice president and general manager of the Milwaukee company's Plastics Technology Group in Manchester, Mich. He was vice president and general manager of the company's Plastic Container Division, and had worked in the automotive seating unit.
LEAR SEATING CORP. - Luis Manuel Gerard Contreras was named president of the Southfield, Mich., firm's Latin American operations. He will handle all new business activity in South America, and will remain president of Lear Seating Mexico, known as CISA. He will be based in Mexico City.
PLASTICS PIONEERS ASSOCIATION - The Greer, S.C.-based society announced new officers: president, Robert Sherman of Robert W. Sherman & Associates consulting firm in Vienna, Va.; vice president, Ellis Bignell, owner and president of ELE Corp. in Ontario, Calif.; secretary, John Hull, vice chairman of Hull Corp. in Hatsboro, Pa.; treasurer, John Kretzschmar, president of Blako Industries Inc. in Dunbridge, Ohio. The officers will serve two-year terms beginning next month, when they are inducted at PPA's annual meeting in Pinehurst, N.C.
SPAULDING COMPOSITES CO. - Richard Berger was named president, chief executive officer and chairman of the Rochester, N.H., fabricator and composites manufacturer. He succeeds Roger Kirkpatrick as CEO. Kirkpatrick will remain a board member and consultant.
