Polyurethane and reaction injection molding, a small segment of the plastics industry, will be well-represented at K'95: Gusmer-Admiral Inc. (Hall 11, Stand D47) will show a compact and mobile mix-and-spray unit, the Gusmer FF-3500, and new models of its DeltaRim Series high-pressure RIM machinery.
The FF-3500 pumps out 1 gallon a minute of chemical systems such as polyureas, PU foam and coatings. It can operate with 310 feet of hose. A separate hose heat control is available as an option.
The new DeltaRim models can be configured easily to process two separate systems, such as a flexible and a rigid, using two separate mixing heads but with a single metering unit. DeltaRim metering units are capable of a mixing pressure of 3,000 pounds per square inch. Outputs for the different units are 40, 80 and 140 pounds a minute.
The Gusmer Model H-7 hydraulic metering unit also will be shown, with a positive displacement, double-acting piston pump with external ball checks for simple maintenance.
A low-pressure meter, mix and dispensing machine also will be shown.
Cannon Group (Hall 11, Stand C35) will show new technology for PU, composites and thermoforming.
Cannon will offer technology for expanding PU into slabstock and molded foams using liquid carbon dioxide, called the CarDio technology. The company also has a similar method for using liquid carbon dioxide as a blowing agent in molded PU foams, called CannOxide.
The company also plans to discuss an innovative way to make sandwich panels.
Cannon will show its A-System 60 Loop, a dosing unit with closed-loop control of the metering pumps for high-pressure PU molding.
On the low-pressure side, the Cannon b2G Plus, designed for gasket molding, also will be shown.
In addition, Cannon will present details on an automatic production line for compression molding of glass mat thermoplastic. Twin-sheet thermoforming tools from Cannon Shelley will be shown, with trimming by a robot made by Belotti srl.
