Book helps molders form capacity plan
Bill Tobin of WJT Associates in Louisville, Colo., has published his latest molder's guide, Capacity Planning for Injection Molding. It covers how to determine press fit, tool load and machine load.
The guide comes with a template compatible with Excel, Lotus or similar MS DOS electronic spread sheets.
Tobin said he wrote the book in response to calls he gets from molders who quote ``a job in a 250-ton press only to find it will just squeeze into a 400-ton press.''
Included in the information is a new part-estimate program, a capacity planning module, how to calculate the group machine load and risk, capacity planning reports, managing a downturn in business and making your own capacity plan.
The book with 3.5-inch disk costs $325.
