Volume 10 of Reactive Cure Systems: UV-IR-EB lists 1,650 suppliers and the types of products, services and specialty applications they offer - including curing and test equipment, inks, coatings and adhesives. It provides a business overview, a guide to consultants and an up-to-date reference bibliography. The cost is $97 in spiral-bound book form, $68 for the 31/2-inch floppy disk.

A monthly newsletter called ``Cureletter 1995,'' which covers new products, technology, services and ongoing research, is $225 for the calendar year.

Eight titles available from Canadian group

The Canadian Plastics Institute has released eight new titles.

Among the new CPI offerings are proceedings from the 1995 International Symposium on Developing Plastics Technologies, held in May at Niagara on the Lake, Ontario. The 275-page collection comprises 18 papers from plastics company executives, engineers, consultants and academics. It costs $340. (Quick Information Card No. 101)

Four new technical reports review recent developments in plastics processing. The ``Review of Injection Moulding'' (Quick Information Card No. 102), ``Review of Blow Moulding''(Quick Information Card No. 103), ``Review of Thermoforming''(Quick Information Card No. 104) and ``Review of Extrusion'' (Quick Information Card No. 105) are priced at $49 each.

Also from CPI is its 1995 Research and Development Compen, a comprehensive listing of major universities, institutions and corporate labs that conduct research and development in plastics and composites. It sells for $110. (Quick Information Card No. 106)

The 1995 Plastics Recycling Directory lists more than 400 recyclers, materials and equipment suppliers, collectors, consultants, and recycled plastic product manufacturers. It costs $35. (Quick Information Card No. 107)

Plastics Primer provides data on plastic materials available on today's market, and is priced at $19. (Quick Information Card No. 108)

CPI, based in Mississauga, Ontario, is a collaboration of private industry, government and the Society of the Plastics Industry of Canada.

Book helps molders form capacity plan

Bill Tobin of WJT Associates in Louisville, Colo., has published his latest molder's guide, Capacity Planning for Injection Molding. It covers how to determine press fit, tool load and machine load.

The guide comes with a template compatible with Excel, Lotus or similar MS DOS electronic spread sheets.

Tobin said he wrote the book in response to calls he gets from molders who quote ``a job in a 250-ton press only to find it will just squeeze into a 400-ton press.''

Included in the information is a new part-estimate program, a capacity planning module, how to calculate the group machine load and risk, capacity planning reports, managing a downturn in business and making your own capacity plan.

The book with 3.5-inch disk costs $325.

    Quick Information Card No. 109

    Briefly. . .

A guide to the chemical industry in the southern cone of South America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay is available from Chemical Weekly magazine and consulting firm New World Ventures of Leesburg, Va. The report, to be released Feb. 1, will cost $2,450 after that date; its prepublication price is $1,950.

    Quick Information Card No. 110

Plastics Design Library has announced two new titles from Rapra Technology Ltd. of Shrewsbury, England. Developments in the European Injection Moulding Industry: 1995 (Quick Information Card No. 111) covers both plastics and rubber molding and will be available in October. It costs $369. Anti-Corrosion Polymers: PEEK, PEKK, and Other Polyaryls (Quick Information Card No. 112) discusses the materials' properties, applications and factors influencing corrosion resistance, among other topics. The softcover book is $130. PDL of Norwich, N.Y., is Rapra's North American distributor.
