DUSSELDORF, GERMANY-AlliedSignal Inc. completed Oct. 4 its buy of Polymer und Filament Rudolstadt of Rudolstadt, Germany. AlliedSignal of Morristown, N.J., will make Rudolstadt its premier European facility, James T. Morelli, director of sales and marketing, Americas, for AlliedSignal Plastics, said at his company's K'95 booth in Dusseldorf.
The firm plans to spend $140 million during the next three years to expand and refurbish the Rudolstadt facility, Morelli said - including the addition of compounding and polymerization capacity to produce nylon 6 and nylon 6/6 and PET resins.
Morelli would not discuss specific capacities, but said Rudolstadt will be larger than Allied-Signal's PET facility in Longla-ville, France.
The firm also will establish its European headquarters in Rudolstadt when the expansion is completed, he said.
