DENVER, PA. - Ephrata Precision Parts Inc. is expanding its polyurethane department by adding equipment and moving its machine shop to another building. The Denver-based firm has doubled the department's size to 10,000 square feet, said Charles Deimler, urethane department general manager and a partner in the company. The expansion of the 23-year-old custom molder will increase its PU capacity at least 20 percent.
Company officials declined to reveal the cost of the project.
The facility previously housed its custom molded PU elastomer division and a machine shop. However, continued growth of the PU division is forcing Ephrata Precision to relocate the machining operations.
Ephrata Precision recently purchased the assets of Ephrata Tool Inc., in nearby Ephrata, Pa., enabling the company's machining business to move two miles away into the tool firm's 12,000-square-foot facility, Deimler said.
The project will boost the Ephrata Precision's employment to 36. The Denver firm will retain all 18 of Ephrata Tool's employees, Deimler said.
