DUSSELDORF, GERMANY-Italian injection press manufacturer Sandretto Industrie srl showed its new line of small-tonnage Micro machines, available in clamping forces from 30-100 tons. The hydraulic presses save energy by using a variable-displacement pump with proportional adjustment of oil capacity and pressure.
At the K'95 trade show in Dusseldorf, a 30-ton Micro machine was molding an acetal ring for seat belts at the rate of eight parts in a seven-second molding cycle. The company's demonstration used a hot-runner system from Plasthing Sas of Turin, Italy.
A 65-ton Micro molded a three-dimensional puzzle, removed by a robot.
Sandretto touts the Micro's generous tie bar spacing and easy access to the machine for maintenance.
Sandretto also showcased its Series 8 machines, high-speed Metalmeccanica presses and the Metga line of machines.
Sandretto's U.S. headquarters is Sandretto Plastics Machinery Inc. located in Cedarville, N.J.
