DUSSELDORF, GERMANY - K'95 visitors saw Netstal-Maschinen AG's new Synergy line of machines, which will replace the HP line. In the United States, the machines will be available in two clamping-force sizes, 66 tons and 88 tons, in 1996. The full range will extend to 385 tons. Management developed the Synergy line in 21/2 years, working closely with customers.
All components were designed and made at the same time and a ``technical trailing'' department tested parts under extreme loads. Then tests were run on subassemblies. The firm sold seven Synergy machines in 1994 for pilot operation for molders in France, Germany and Switzerland.
Netstal has made the machines easier to use, so downtime can be kept to a minimum. The press alerts the operator when the pressure filter, oil level and central lubrication need attention.
The Swiss firm's U.S. oper-ation, Netstal-Machinery Inc., is based in Fitchburg, Mass.
