WASHINGTON - Susan P. Moore, for 10 years a spokeswoman for the plastics industry, has been appointed vice president of communications for the Washington-based American Plastics Council. Moore fills the position vacated in May by Jean Statler, who left to join a private lobbying firm, Dutko and Associates, also in Washington.
Red Cavaney, president and chief executive officer of the council, announced Moore's promotion Nov. 10, along with that of another longtime APC employee, Andrea P. Wood.
Moore most recently was APC's director of communications and has served in media relations capacities for APC's predecessor organizations and the Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. Her focus has been the promotion of APC's positions on resource conservation.
Wood has been named associate director, technical assistance programs, a new position. Wood has been with APC and its forerunners for six years. She actively has managed the TAP pro-gram for APC and recently was named to the National Recycling Coalition's board of directors.
