KNOXVILLE, TENN.-Compound Solutions Inc. of Knoxville, Tenn., has begun marketing microporous granules and pelletized concentrates made in Germany by Akzo Nobel Faser AG. The Accurel products are used as a convenient medium for compounding liquid or meltable additives.
Accurel microporous granules are like polymer sponges that can be filled with liquid additives such as fragrances and peroxides. The granules, made of polyolefins or nylon, are dry and free-flowing for compounding into masterbatches.
Accurel concentrates can have 50 percent or higher loadings of lubricants, slips and other difficult-to-compound additives, according to Akzo Nobel. The company is based in Arnhem, the Netherlands.
