SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J. - Recycle Inc., a South Plainfield firm that recycles and reconditions 5- to 55-gallon industrial drums, will open a new processing facility in January. The 86,500-square-foot facility in South Plainfield will include office space.
The firm cleans and processes 400,000-800,000 plastic, steel and paperboard drums per year. Processing includes washing and testing of plastic containers. The firm has a closed-loop captive container service in which plastic drums are cleaned, tested, recertified and returned to the original customer. It also cleans, grinds and repelletizes plastic drums for sale to the corrugated drainage pipe market.
Steel drums are shredded and sold as scrap metal.
The company will install a cryogenic container cleaning system, a shredder, granulator and a granular wash and extruder pelletizer at the new facility.
